Hosted by Tony nominee Patrick Page, the evening also featured the presentation of the George Mayer Award for Extraordinary Service to Classical Theater to the Axe-Houghton Foundation. Off-Broadway's Red Bull Theater honored Tony-winning The Lion King director Julie Taymor with the Matador Award for Extraordinary Achievement in Classical Theater at the June 5 Running of the Red Bulls Gala Benefit at New York's Bowery Hotel.
